Ol' Funny

This video is funny because it is soooo old and cheesy. I did it for my final in a video class.

A sweet sigh of relief.

Last class was so moving. It helped me in so many ways and touched me on so many different levels. Beth, just wanted to let you know that you helped me WAY more than I think you know. Also, TED.com gave me an idea for my capstone. The class was filled with tons of inspiration and therapy. Whether I knew it or not, I really needed it. Thanks guys.

Technology is not my friend!

Well I did a great thing for this assignment and guess what, my computer dies and so does the power cord. The tech people are saying that it can take days or weeks for them to send me a new power cord. Until, I find another power chord, I will describe. I know do exactly what Beth told me not to do. Its an image with a black background with a cigarette in the bottom left corner. In the middle of the page reads the words NO FAGS in smoke. The smoke is coming from the cigarette. Since we had so much to say on the topic of words and meanings, I decided to do a pic with a play on words and see if anyone gets offended. Hopefully not, since a fag is a cigarette.

Rules... what rules?!

Last class had some interesting point of views. I honestly felt like I was in a debate/ethics class. Some people made great points and others were boring. Yet in still, everything needed to be said, I guess. After all the talking, I did manage to get inspired, so I will create a fabulous piece. Like Beth said it's time to put up or shutup. Well not quite in those exact words. :)

Broken Bliss

I really needed the bliss time to learn a new concept in computer science. I am glad to announce that I figured it all out. I felt very accomplished and was totally proud of myself. As far as the broken assignment goes, I'm actually not that big on photoshop so I decided to use that tool to do something different. I looked online for some tutorials and tried some things with masking and effects. I like to use illustrator, but I found photoshop to be so cool. Photoshop has a lot of hidden tricks and can be quite intimidating if one hasn't used it before. All in all, this assignment was all around helpful. :)

More than meets the eye...

I wasn't in class so I missed out on the true essence of the assignment. (Darn my sinuses.) I read the assignment and immediately thought about optical illusions. Any way check out the crazy image. It looks innocent enough, but wait until you turn the picture rightside up. Maybe it's onions, but probably not.

The image to the right looks pretty regular.

The second image is the real image rightside up.

Hmmm Class 3

I've read other people's reponses to class 3 and it looks like I missed a great session. I unfortunately was sick with a serious sinus infection. I'm feeling a lot better. It sucks that I had to miss class though. Now I have to figure out the assignment on my own and not without any weird inspiration from class, which I enjoy. Oh fooey, I wish I could have been there.

AHHH! ...phew it's just pizza.

Last week's class was crazy and inspiring. As soon as we were given our assignment, I immediately got an idea. I was inspired by the darkness, the overall theme of fear, and of course the pizza. Inspired by all of that, I decided to create an image. It consist of an extremely obese man eating some pizza. The overall tone of the picture is dark and ominous. Hopefully the pic will be done by tomorrow. Until then I will keep you posted. lol...get it... posted. :) Yeah, I know, real corny.

The sky, the darkness and pizza

Class yesterday was...um... unique. I thought it was funny how we spent so much time defining what it meant to be "in the box" and I grabbed the part of the pizza box that said:
"What goes in this box represents everything in our whole company." Well that sucks for them. Hope I don't get defined by what's in my box. Just some food for thought. :)

Sky's the limit

I've created atleast 3 different images over the past two weeks in an attempt to interpret my experience in the 1st day of seeing sideways. After a lot of "ctrl z's", I settled with this image. It seems to capture what I was seeing and feeling that day. The vibrant rays against the dark background was basically what I saw when I stared at the sun for way too long. After resting and watching the clouds float by, my mind began to wander and I began to reflect on all the interesting topics that were brought up in class. The wandering is represented by the rays of light gently flowing to the right of the image. From one day in seeing sideways, I realized that this class would really help me be creative. This is represented by the light hints of blue shimmer that gracefully wrap around the rays of thoughts. Overall I'm pretty happy with this image and it gets my point across, yet I do feel that it is a bit typical.

1st day of seeing sideways

Today was my first day in a very interesting class entitled seeing sideways. This class is very unique and focuses on bringing out one's inner creativity. Based on the random topics discussed in class today, I'm expecting that it will be a very fun semester.
Interesting fact: Duck, Duck Goose can be a very dangerous game. :)
